🌿 Morning – Spiritual & Cultural Exploration

🔹 10:15 – 10:45 AM – Walk through Zigenji Temple (Fudasho No.13) & Imamiya Shrine
🔹 10:45 – 11:00 AM – Orientation at “Ku”
- Introduction to Chichibu
- Overview of Matcha Tea & Sutra Copying
🔹 11:00 – 11:30 AM – Zen Experience at “Ku”
- Sutra Copying (Shakyo) – Engage in a mindful practice of copying sacred Buddhist texts
🔹 11:30 – 12:30 PM – Traditional Japanese Lunch at “Kan”
- Enjoy a beautifully crafted Japanese meal in a serene, traditional space

🏯 Afternoon – Historical & Free Exploration
🔹 12:30 – 13:45 PM – Visit Chichibu Shrine & Chichibu Festival Hall
- Learn about the grand Chichibu Night Festival, one of Japan’s top festivals
- Explore the ornate Chichibu Shrine, a hidden cultural gem
🔹 14:00 – 16:00 PM –Visit to Chichibu Meisen Museum
Chichibu Meisen Museum
The Chichibu Meisen Museum is dedicated to showcasing Chichibu Meisen, a traditional silk textile renowned for its vibrant patterns and smooth texture. The museum is housed in a historical building that was originally a textile testing facility built in 1930 and is now designated as a Registered Tangible Cultural Property of Japan.
Inside the museum, visitors can learn about the history and unique production process of Chichibu Meisen. Exhibits include actual weaving machines and dyeing equipment used in traditional manufacturing. The museum also offers various hands-on workshops. We will have a Weaving experience to create a coaster (about 30 minutes)
